The short answer

A React Native app usually costs $1,500 to $15,000 for a focused first version, $15,000 to $60,000 for an app with accounts, payments and its own backend, and $60,000 or more for a large product. On top of the build, Apple charges $99 a year and Google Play $25 once. At Enthros a React Native app starts at $1,500 for iOS and Android.

What are the costs of a React Native app?

A React Native app has three costs: the build, the store accounts and the running cost after launch. Most quotes only cover the build, so ask about the other two before you compare.

The build is paid to whoever designs and codes the app. The store accounts are paid to Apple and Google. The running cost covers the backend, the services the app uses and the updates each new phone system brings.

What does it cost to have a React Native app built?

The price follows the number of screens and how much happens behind them. As a rough guide, based on the quotes clients show us:

  • A focused first version, up to about 10 screens with login: about $1,500 to $15,000
  • An app with accounts, payments, notifications and its own backend: about $15,000 to $60,000
  • A large app with several user roles, offline use, live updates or heavy integrations: $60,000 and up

What do the app stores charge?

Both stores charge for a developer account in your name. These are the prices on the official Apple and Google pages, as of 28 October 2026:

  • Apple Developer Program: $99 a year, needed to publish on the App Store
  • Google Play developer account: $25, paid once

Does sharing code with a website lower the cost?

Yes, when the website is built in React. Business rules, data types and the code that talks to your server can be written once and used by both, so the app needs less new code and later changes are made in one place.

The screens themselves are still built for the phone. Expect the saving on the logic behind the app, not on the design and the interface.

What moves the price up?

Six things decide most React Native quotes:

  • Screens and flows: every new screen is designed, built and tested on both platforms
  • Backend: accounts, data and an admin panel for your team take as long as the app itself on many projects
  • Payments: subscriptions and in app purchases need setup and review on each store
  • Native features: Bluetooth, background location or a custom camera need extra native code for each platform
  • Offline use: an app that works without signal needs local storage and syncing
  • Design and motion: custom animation and a full design system cost more than standard screens

Is React Native cheaper than Flutter?

For the same app, the build costs about the same. Both run one codebase on iOS and Android. React Native can cost less when your team already works in React, because the code is easier for them to take over, or when logic is shared with a React website.

Flutter can cost less when the design has a lot of custom motion, since it draws every screen itself. Read our comparison of Flutter and React Native for the full picture.

What does a React Native app cost at Enthros?

Our React Native apps start at $1,500 for a focused first version of up to 10 screens, with login and the release to both stores, and take 15 to 20 weeks from the first call to the stores. Larger apps get a fixed quote before work starts, and the price you approve is the price you pay.

After launch, the first 30 days of support are included, and an optional care plan from $900 a month covers updates, fixes and new features. The store accounts and the backend sit in your name from day one.
